Popular in the art world and with luxury brands, intaglio involves a design being initially etched into metal plate, which is then used for printing on a 'die-stamping press'.
The ink is stamped onto the material under enormous pressure, which produces a beautiful raised 'embossed' image of great clarity and quality. It’s the natural choice when printing coats of arms, crests, and corporate logos. It’s also the chosen method amongst high-end stationers and favoured by royalty for their invitations.
