We Grew a ‘Tache to Raise Some Cash…It Must Be Movember!

At Tomlinson’s, it’s important to us that we champion great charities and have found fundraising to be both fun and rewarding for everyone involved. In the past we’ve raised money for Barnardo’s, Cancer Research and this November a large group of our great guys braved the itch and pledged to grow a moustache in support of the Movember Foundation!

Firstly, huge thanks to everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts by donating their hard-earned cash to such a brilliant charity; a charity that’s striving to change the face of men’s health. It really does mean a great deal.

Ever heard it said that, on average, women live longer than men? Well, the Movember Foundation heard that, too, and then said, “yes but…why?”. They found out that we are currently in the throes of a men’s mental and physical health crisis; that too many men are dying too soon due to suicide; and that a great many more are dying too young due to avoiding getting checked out by a health professional.

Quite simply, this needs to change.

Here at Tomlinson’s we aim to echo the Movember Foundation’s important message and urge our work colleagues, families and friends - both male and female - not to stay silent, not to ‘cover it up’, not to ignore any worry or concern, and not to ‘sweep’ any possible health concern ‘under the carpet'.

In 2021 Tomlinson Ltd subscribed to the ‘Employee Assistance Programme’ which provides a confidential twenty-four hour support line should any member of our team wish or need to talk at any time. What’s more, taking part in Movember 2022 further reinforces our company’s commitment to fostering an open and supportive culture concerning the subject of mental and physical health.

Notwithstanding its very serious aim, all at Tomlinson’s who took part in Movember 2022 had great fun growing a mo’ and feel proud to have raised a very respectable £170.00 to-date to help the Movember Foundation continue its important work.
